I originally found this recipe on tumblr in witch circles, but the person I saved it from has since changed their url (they used to be @ravenwhitewitch). If anybody knows what they changed their url to please let me know and I'll link back to them here!



Lavender Cake:

Lavender Glaze:



  1. Preheat over to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  3. Combine milk and lavender in a small saucepan over medium heat. Heat to a simmer, them remove from hear, and allow to cool slightly.
  4. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and salt until smooth. Beat in the egg until the mixture in light and fluffy.
  5. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk and lavender until just blended.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 50 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
  7. Let cool completely then top with glaze.

Lavender Glaze

  1. Place the milk in a saucepan over medium heat. When it starts to boil, take the pan off the heat and add the dried lavender buds.
  2. Let the mixture steep for 5-8 minutes, then strain the milk.
  3. Whisk the milk into the sugar, one tablespoon at a time, until you get a smooth and opaque glaze.
  4. Pour or spoon glaze over cooled loaf.
